Motiv Powers Purolator Delivery E-Vehicles in Canada
Sporting a six-phase permanent magnet motor for traction applications, fully electric delivery trucks operated by Purolator are the latest additions to the Canadian courier’s fleet of eco-friendly vehicles. Serving the Vancouver area, the 18-ft fully electric curbside delivery vehicles expand the company’s fleet of e-trucks and e-cargo bikes already in use on the streets of Montreal and Toronto.
The trucks are built on Ford’s F-59 platform and electrified by Motiv Power Systems using its Electric Power Intelligent Chassis (EPIC) for delivery vans. The powertrain in the Purolator build provides 230 kW peak power, 308 hp, 2400 torque and 20% gradeability. Purolator’s deployment of the technology marks Motiv’s first collaboration with a company in Canada.
